ABILITY LIST!

Animagi is a witch or wizard who has the ability to shift into an animal. Animagi are not shape shifters, but rather bonded with a particular animal that they will transform into using magical abilities that have been learned. While family members can have a better grasp of transfiguration, the ability of an Animagi is still required to be registered.

Because it is such a hard thing to learn, only seventh year students may elect to take a transfiguration class about how to become an animagi. While they may take the class it can take several months if not the entire year to be able to shift between the two without fail. After several years of practice the person will be able to shift between the two forms fully clothed when they enter and exit the stage.

All animagi are registered with the ministry and must be known in both their human and animal form.

Metamorphmagi have the ability to change their physical appearance at any time. They can change their hair color, eye color, face composure, body structure, and many other physical attributes of their body.

This ability is an ability that a person is born with. It can not be learned and usually skips a generation. Meaning a grandmother and grandchild would share the ability, but not the middle member.

It is also more common in girls, but guys can have the ability as well. All metamorphmagi must be registered with the ministry.

Parseltongue is the ability to speak the tongue of snakes. This is usually affiliated with Dark Magic. It is a very rare ability, and only Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort have been reported to speak Parseltongue.

The ability to fly without aid of a broom is a rare skill, but is learned. It is something not taught at Hogwarts, so a wizard must do their own reading and studying and are usually only successful in their later years after they have become a successful wizard. Only Lord Voldemort and Severus Snape have been known for unaided flight.

Seers have the ability to predict the future events. Anything that a seer sees has a chance of not coming true as well. Future events may be seen at one point, but several years down the road they have the ability to change and differ as time goes on. Not every prediction comes true. Seers are uncommon, but not rare.

Being a seer can affect anyone differently. Some go into trances, others see it in dreams. There are plenty of other ways for a seer to predict things as well. This is something that should be included in the application.

Legilimency users have the ability to enter into another's mind and view the thoughts there as well as interject some of their own thoughts if they are advanced enough. Lord Voldemort is considered the master of legilimency. There is no course on this at Hogwarts because it considered a dangerous course and so those that wish to learn it must do so on their own accord.

Most who practice Occlumency have at least a basic understanding of legilimency but do not have to be advanced it in. Occlumency is protecting oneself against the affects of legilimency.

Apparition is the ability to travel between physical locations. The only thing is that the wizard has to have been to the place before they can travel there because you need to be able to picture the place. There is a class offered for seventh year students and students who are seventeen.

Magical resistance, offers the person who is protected or invincible from small charms and spells. Usually common in creatures such as werewolves and giants. Wizards are capable of learning some magical resistance as well. It is a rare thing though.

A werewolf is a man who has been attacked by a werewolf and survived. Said people will turn every full moon into a werewolf as well.

Mating between a werewolf and wizard will result in a werewolf if the mother is a werewolf, and a wizard if the mother is a wizard. The father has almost no control as to what the child will be. If both the parents are werewolves then the child will definitely be a werewolf.
